2010 Honda HSV-010 GT Racing Car Pictures : Honda Racing has announced that the Honda HSV-010 GT will compete in the GT500 class of the 2010 Super GT Series. The Honda HSV-010 GT weighs 1,100 kg and measuring 4675 m long and 2.000 in width. The race car has a wheelbase of 2,700 m. The Honda HSV-010 GT is powered by a 3.4-liter V8 liquid cooled, naturally aspirated engine with two intake and two exhaust valves per cylinder 500 + hp and 392 Nm of torque + develops. The strength of the Honda HSV-010 GT will be sent to the wheels via a constant mesh transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters.

The Honda HSV-010 GT, Honda HSV stands for Velocity Sports also comes with a double wishbone suspension system with torsion bar and has a ventilated hydraulic disc brake system. Honda HSV-010 GT racing car is based on a recent NSX prototype and will debut at the March 20 to 21 season-opening race weekend at Suzuka Circuit in south-central Japan.

The most innovative and crazy concept from Honda is the Air Concept; an 800 pound, air-powered vehicle inspired by roller coaster and wing-suit design. It was created for the L.A. Auto Design Show Challenge and completely throws out the standard automobile concept. While this thing looks great and sounds promising, it's a long way off from reality.

If you're all about small, efficient cars, then the Honda P-NUT is right up your alley. P-NUT stands for "Personal - Neo Urban Transport," and it's the perfect vehicle for that job. Despite its small size, it's actually quite roomy inside, as this stylish concept car features a centered drivers seat and two rear passenger seats. The P-NUT also is designed to work with a combustion, hybrid, or fully electric motor. I can see this stylish and practical vehicle really catching on in highly populated cities like Tokyo or New York.

Honda Plug-In Hybrid

Okay, so this really shouldn't be considered a concept "car," but it is a sign of the direction that most Honda cars may take in the future. The plug-in hybrid system uses both a gasoline and electric engine, providing efficient short or long-distance and trips. To accomplish this, the car constantly switches between three different modes: all-electric, gasoline-electric, and "direct-drive." This setup touts an all-electric range of 10-15 miles, with a charge time of around 2 hours on a standard 120-volt outlet. The standard combustion engine is a 2.0 liter i-4 VTEC which engages "direct-drive" for high-speed cruising. Overall, Honda's plug-in hybrid sounds promising, but I'll have to see it working in a real vehicle before I start getting excited.

Honda Fit EV Concept

The Honda Fit is already a hip, fuel-efficient car, but this EV concept version makes it even more so. It keeps the same styling of the original while swapping out the motor for a fully electric, 3-mode version which combines the best aspects of the FCX Clarity and the CR-Z Sport Hybrid. It also comes with a handy remote control that interactively links with the car without the need for a wireless internet connection. The car gains a full charge in 12 hours with a standard 120-volt outlet, or in six hours when using a 240-volt outlet. Unfortunately, the Honda Fit EV Concept only achieves a maximum range of 100 miles per charge, which seems like a poor tradeoff for those long charge times.

Honda FC Sport

If you're looking for a slightly more practical alternative to the Tesla Roadster, Honda has the answer in the FC Sport. Unfortunately, this stylish concept car was created as a design study and likely will never come to market. The FC Sport utilizes a hydrogen fuel cell, similar to the one currently powering the FCX Clarity, which pumps out a ton of power and has zero emissions. Not only is it a fuel-efficient alternative, it also gives the car a lower center of gravity which makes for better handling. I'm just hoping Honda makes those rims available on other models.

Honda will build an NGTC Civic for the 2012 BTCC

Honda will build an NGTC version of the latest Civic for next season's British Touring Car Championship.
The new-shape Civic is to be launched soon and Team Dynamics, which currently runs the works Honda programme in the BTCC, will build the new cars.
It is the first time a manufacturer-backed effort has committed to the NGTC rules, which were introduced this season.
David Hodgetts, managing director of Honda UK, said: "We are delighted to enter the new Civic in next year's BTCC, and hope to build on the success we've already had with the current model.
"We've made significant improvements to the new road car, and we're confident those changes will make a competitive race car too."
Honda driver Matt Neal added: "The team's development of the car is already underway. I'm sure it will keep Honda at the front."
Honda's Gordon Shedden and Neal are currently second and third in the standings with the current Civic, which was introduced in the BTCC in 2007.
